UNESCO Sites
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations (UN). This organization's charter is to fulfill 5 major objectives: education, natural sciences, social and human sciences, culture, and communication and information. They have currently designated 1007 sites as "World Heritage Sites" these sites "...must be of outstanding universal value...". Additional criteria for selection can be found by clicking here.
